Preliminary Procedures

1. Use a grease pencil to mark the liftgate hinge position.
2. Lower the rear of the headliner enough to access the hinge bolts. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
4. Disconnect the liftgate struts. Refer to Liftgate Strut Replacement .

Tailgate Hinge Bolt (Qty: 4)

Caution : Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)

Procedure

1. Transfer parts as needed.
2. Adjust the tailgate if needed. Refer to Liftgate Adjustment .
