Camshaft Cover Replacement
Removal Procedure
Remove engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
.
Remove the 4 fuel injectors . Refer to
Fuel Injector Replacement
.
Remove the 2 radiator surge tank inlet hose bolts (1, 2).
Remove the 2 radiator surge tank inlet hose clamps (3, 4).
Remove the radiator surge tank inlet hose (5).
Disconnect the camshaft sensor wiring harness plug.
Remove the upper timing belt front cover. Refer to
Timing Belt Upper Front Cover Replacement
.
Note:
Mark the positions from the hoses.
Remove the 2 PCV valve vacuum hoses (5) from the vacuum pipe and EGR valve.
Remove the wiring harness plug from the vacuum modulator (2).
Remove the 2 PCV valve nuts (4).
Remove the PCV valve (3).
Remove the camshaft cover. Refer to
Camshaft Cover Removal
.
Installation Procedure
Install the camshaft cover. Refer to
Camshaft Cover Installation
.
Install a NEW PCV valve gasket (1).
Install the PCV valve (3).
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the 2 PCV valve nuts (4) and tighten to
11 N·m (98 lb in)
.
Install the wiring harness plug at the vacuum modulator (2).
Install the 2 PCV valve vacuum hoses (5).
Install the upper timing belt front cover. Refer to
Timing Belt Upper Front Cover Replacement
.
Connect the camshaft sensor wiring harness plug.
Install the radiator surge tank inlet hose (5).
Install the 2 radiator surge tank inlet hose clamps (3, 4).
Install the 2 radiator surge tank inlet hose bolts (1, 2).
Install the 4 fuel injectors . Refer to
Fuel Injector Replacement
.
Install engine cover. Refer to
Engine Cover Replacement
.
