Generator and Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the fuel injection pump. Refer to Fuel Injection Pump Replacement
  2. Raise vehicle by its full height. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  3. 2189675
  4. Remove the 4 AC compressor bolts (1).
  5. Note: 

       • Do not disconnect the cooling hoses from AC compressor.
       • Be careful not to buckle or damage the hoses.

  6. Remove the AC compressor out of the work area.
  7. Lower the vehicle full height.
  8. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement : 2.0L Diesel LNP → 2.0L Diesel LLW → 1.4L LDD, LUH, and LUJ → 1.6L LXT,L2W → 1.6L LDE, LXV, LLU, 1.8L 2H0, and LUW .
  9. Remove exhaust gas recirculation vacuum tank. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Vacuum Tank Removal .
  10. Remove the generator and air conditioning compressor bracket. Refer to Generator and Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Removal .

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator and air conditioning compressor bracket. Refer to Generator and Air Conditioning Compressor Bracket Installation .
  2. Install exhaust gas recirculation vacuum tank. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Vacuum Tank Installation .
  3. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement : 2.0L Diesel LNP → 2.0L Diesel LLW → 1.4L LDD, LUH, and LUJ → 1.6L LXT,L2W → 1.6L LDE, LXV, LLU, 1.8L 2H0, and LUW .
  4. Raise the vehicle by its full height.

  6. Install the AC compressor.
  7. Install the 4 AC compressor bolts (1) and tighten to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
  8. Lower the vehicle full height.
  9. Install the fuel injection pump. Refer to Fuel Injection Pump Replacement .
