Timing Chain Tensioner Replacement

EN-955-1 Fixing Pin from EN-955 Kit
For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools .
Removal Procedure
- Open the bonnet.
- Remove the engine front cover with oil pump. Refer to Engine Front Cover with Oil Pump Replacement .
Note: Removal of timing chain is necessary to get access to the engine front cover gasket.
- Remove the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement .
- Remove the EN-955-1 pin (1) from timing chain tensioner.
- Remove the 2 timing chain tensioner bolts (2).
- Remove the timing chain tensioner (3).
Installation Procedure
- Install the timing chain tensioner (3).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the 2 timing chain tensioner bolts (2) and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb ft).
- Fix the timing chain tensioner with EN-955-1 pin (1)
- Install the engine front cover gasket and the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain Replacement .
- Install the engine front cover with oil pump. Refer to Engine Front Cover with Oil Pump Replacement .
- Close the bonnet.
