Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the liftgate. Refer to Liftgate Replacement .
2. Lower the rear of the headliner to access the inner bolts. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement : Long Body  → Short Body .
3. Use a grease pencil to mark the tailgate hinge position to the body prior to removal.

Tailgate Hinge Nut (Qty: 4)

Caution : Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
25 N·m (18 lb ft)
