Strut Assembly Removal and Installation

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .



2. Remove the upper strut mounting nuts.
3. Remove the front tyre and wheel assembly. Refer to Tyre and Wheel Removal and Installation .
4. Remove the brake hose bracket from the strut. Refer to Front Brake Hose Replacement .
5. Remove the stabilizer link from the strut. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .



6. Remove the strut to knuckle bolts and nuts.
7. Remove the strut assembly.

1. Position the strut assembly in the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




2. Install the upper strut mounting nuts and tighten to 30 N·m (22 lb ft)



3. Install the knuckle to strut bolts and tighten to 185 N·m (136 lb ft).
4. Install the brake hose bracket to the strut. Refer to Front Brake Hose Replacement .
5. Install the stabilizer link to strut upper nut. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement .
6. Install the front tyre and wheel assembly. Refer to Tyre and Wheel Removal and Installation .
7. Measure the wheel alignment. Adjust the wheel alignment if necessary. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications .
8. Lower the vehicle.
