Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the tailgate trim panel. Refer to Tailgate Trim Panel Replacement : Long Body  → Short Body .
2. Remove the rear window wiper arm. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement : Long Body .

Tailgate Wiring harness plug to Rear Window Wiper Control Module Connector

Tip
Disconnect the electrical connector before removing the rear window wiper motor from the tailgate.

Rear Window Wiper Motor Bolt (Qty: 3)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Rear Window Wiper Motor

Procedure

1. Transfer the rear window wiper control module to the new wiper motor.
2. Ensure the wiper motor pivot shaft grommet is not damaged upon removal or installation of the NEW rear window wiper motor.
3. Ensure the rear window wiper motor is in the PARK position.
4. With the ignition key ON, engine OFF, electrically PARK the rear window wiper motor pivot shaft.
5. Install the rear window wiper arm. Refer to Rear Window Wiper Arm Replacement : Long Body .
