Circuit/System Testing
All Navigation/Info Display Module Functions Inoperative
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the wiring harness plug at the Navigation/Info display module.
- Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.
⇒ | If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. |
- Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminal 1 and ground.
⇒ | If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. |
- If all circuits test normal, replace the Navigation/Info display module.
No Navigation or Mp3 Audio
Note: Only perform this diagnostic if normal radio functions are working properly. If audio cannot be heard from radio or CD diagnose the radio first.
Verify the DIN harness (round connector) is properly connected at both the radio and Navigation/Info display module before replacing parts.
Replace DIN Cable. Verify that audio can be heard.
⇒ | If audio is still not heard, replace the Navigation/Info display module. |
No GPS Signal
Note: The global positioning system (GPS) requires a clear line of sight to the sky to operate properly. In most cases the GPS will not have reception near tall buildings or inside structures.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the GPS aerial coax cable from the Navigation/Info display module.
- Ignition ON, test for 4.5-5.5 V between the coax cable centre conductor terminal at the Navigation/Info display module and ground.
⇒ | If not within the specified range, Navigation/Info display module. |
- If all circuits test normal, replace the GPS aerial.
