Preliminary Procedures

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
3. Remove the air conditioner compressor. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement : Diesel  → V6  → 2.4L .
4. Remove the radiator outlet hose. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement : Diesel  → V6  → LE5 .

Engine Coolant Thermostat Bolts (Qty: 2)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
10 N·m (88 lb in)
