Support Fuel Pump and Vacuum Pump Cap Installation

Note: 

   • Ensure that the camshaft guide sealing surface is clear of oil, grease and old sealant material.
   • Do not coat sealant on the camshaft guide bolt holes, it could damage the camshaft guide bolt threads or the cylinder head.

  1. Apply sealant (Three-Bond, 12378521) on the sealant line (1).

  2. Install the camshaft guide (2).

    3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Install the camshaft guide retaining bolts (1).

    4. Tighten

        • Tighten the camshaft guide retaining bolt (M8) to 25 N·m (18.4 lb ft).
        • Tighten the camshaft guide retaining bolt (M6) to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).

  4. Install the oil level indicator and tube bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).
  5. Install the fuel injection pump. Refer to Fuel Injection Pump Installation .
  6. Install the vacuum pump assembly. Refer to Vacuum Pump Installation .
  7. Install the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Installation .
