Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

EN-726-A Oil Filter Wrench

Removal Procedure
- Open the hood.
- Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Place a suitable container under the vehicle.
- Loosen the oil filter with EN-726-A wrench (1).
- Remove the oil filter (1).
- Remove the oil pan oil drain plug (2).
- Remove the oil pan oil drain plug gasket (1).
- Drain the complete oil from the oil pan.
Installation Procedure
- Install a NEW oil pan oil drain plug gasket (1).
- Install the oil pan oil drain plug (2) and tighten to 14 N·m (124 lb in).
Note: Coat the oil filter sealing surface with NEW engine oil.
- Install the oil filter (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Tighten the oil filter, use the EN-726-A wrench and tighten to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
- Remove the container.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the oil filler cap (2).
- Remove the oil level indicator (1).
- Fill in engine oil.
- Check the oil level with the oil level indicator (1).
- Fill up to the max. level as shown in the graphic.
- Install the oil level indicator (1).
- Install the oil filler cap (2).
- Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
- Close the hood.
