Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement
Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution in the Preface section.
- Remove the front suspension strut housing brace. Refer to Front Suspension Strut Housing Brace Replacement .
- Remove the brake master cylinder reservoir bolts (1).
- Carefully pull the master cylinder reservoir (1) straight upward and remove the master cylinder reservoir from the master cylinder.
- Remove and discard the brake master cylinder reservoir seals (1).
Installation Procedure
- Lightly lubricate the master cylinder reservoir seals with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- Install the brake master cylinder reservoir seals (1).
- Carefully install the master cylinder reservoir (1) to the master cylinder.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the brake master cylinder reservoir bolts (1) and tighten to 8 N·m (71 lb in).
- Install the front suspension strut housing brace. Refer to Front Suspension Strut Housing Brace Replacement .
