Timing Belt Lower Front Cover Replacement

1. Remove the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
2. Remove the generator and air conditioning compressor and power steering pump belt. Refer to Alternator, Air Conditioning Compressor, and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement .
3. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
4. Remove the belt idler pulley. Refer to Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
5. Remove the crankshaft pulley. Refer to Crankshaft Pulley Replacement .



6. Remove the 6 timing belt lower front cover bolts (2).
7. Remove the timing belt lower front cover (1).

1. Install the timing belt lower cover (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

2. Install the 6 timing belt lower front cover bolts and tighten to 11 N·m (97 lb in)..
3. Install the crankshaft pulley. Refer to Crankshaft Pulley Replacement .
4. Install the belt idler pulley. Refer to Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
5. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
6. Install the generator and air conditioning compressor and power steering pump belt. Refer to Alternator, Air Conditioning Compressor, and Power Steering Pump Belt Replacement .
7. Install the front compartment insulator. Refer to Front Compartment Insulator Replacement .
