Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement - RHD
Removal Procedure
Remove the driver knee bolster. Refer to
Driver Knee Bolster Replacement
:
Long Body
→
Short Body
.
Remove the accelerator pedal position sensor. Refer to
Accelerator Pedal with Position Sensor Assembly Replacement
:
LE5 or LE9
(2.4L), or
Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement
(3.0L), or
Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement
(2.0L, 2.2L Diesel).
Disconnect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.
Remove the power vacuum brake booster pushrod nut (1).
Disconnect the power vacuum brake booster pushrod from the brake pedal.
Remove the power vacuum brake booster nuts (1).
Remove the brake pedal bracket bolts (1).
Remove the instrument panel assembly. Refer to
Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement
:
Long Body
→
Short Body
.
Remove the brake pedal assembly.
Installation Procedure
Position the brake pedal to the power vacuum brake booster studs.
Caution:
Refer to
Fastener Caution
in the Preface section.
Install the power vacuum brake booster nuts (1) and tighten to
22 N·m (16 lb ft)
.
Install the instrument panel assembly. Refer to
Instrument Panel Assembly Replacement
:
Long Body
→
Short Body
.
Install the brake pedal bracket bolts (1) and tighten to
22 N·m (16 lb ft)
.
Install the power vacuum brake booster pushrod to the brake pedal.
Install the power vacuum brake booster pushrod nut (1) and tighten to
9 N·m (80 lb in)
.
Connect the brake pedal position sensor electrical connector.
Install the accelerator pedal position sensor. Refer to
Accelerator Pedal with Position Sensor Assembly Replacement
:
LE5 or LE9
(2.4L), or
Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement
(3.0L), or
Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor Replacement
(2.0L, 2.2L Diesel).
Install the driver knee bolster. Refer to
Driver Knee Bolster Replacement
