Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement

Removal Procedure

    Note: The left-hand drive model is shown. The right-hand drive model is similar.

  1. Syphon the power steering fluid from the fluid reservoir.
  2. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch the power steering fluid.
  3. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement : Long Body  → Short Body .

  5. Remove the bolts (1, 2) from the cooling pipe bracket in front of the radiator.
  6. Remove the bolt (3) from the cooling pipe bracket under the left headlamp.
  7. Caution: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Caution in the Preface section.

  8. Disconnect the hoses (2, 3) from the pipes (1, 4) near the left lower side of the front bumper.
  9. Remove the cooling pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Position the cooling pipe in the vehicle.

  3. Connect the hoses (2, 3) to the pipes (1, 4) near the left lower side of the front bumper.
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the bolt (3) to the cooling pipe bracket under the left headlamp and tighten to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).
  6. Install the bolts (1, 2) to the cooling pipe brackets in front of the radiator and tighten to 10 N·m (88.5 lb in).
  7. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement : Long Body  → Short Body .
  8. Caution: Refer to Using Proper Power Steering Fluid Caution in the Preface section.

  9. Fill the reservoir with power steering fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  10. Caution: Refer to Air in the Power Steering System Caution in the Preface section.

  11. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
