Preliminary Procedures

1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
2. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
3. Remove the engine control module (ECM). Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
4. Remove the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
5. Remove the glow plug controller and bracket. Refer to Glow Plug Controller Replacement .
6. Remove the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement : Diesel  → Petrol Engines .
7. Remove the underhood bussed electrical center.

Throttle Body Assembly Fastener (Qty: 4)

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Tighten
10 N·m (89 lb in)

Procedure

1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
2. Use a new throttle body O-ring.
3. Perform the throttle learn procedure.
