Oil Pan Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement .
  4. Drain the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .

  6. Remove the 3 oil pan to transmission bolts (2).
  7. Remove the 15 oil pan bolts (3).
  8. Note: 

       • Use a suitable tool.
       • Be carefully do not damage the oil pan and oil pan sealing surface. Refer to Separating Parts .

  9. Remove the oil pan (1).

Installation Procedure

    Note: 

       • Ensure that the oil pan sealing surface (2) is clear of oil, grease and old gasket material.
       • Do not coat sealant on the oil pan bolt holes, it could damage the oil pan bolt threads or the engine block.

  1. Inspect the oil pan (1) of damages, nicks and cracks. Refer to Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection .
  2. Coat sealant on the oil pan sealing surface (2).

  4. Install the oil pan (1).
  5. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  6. Install the 15 oil pan bolts (3) and tighten to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
  7. Install the 3 oil pan to transmission bolts (2) and tighten to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
  8. Install the exhaust front pipe. Refer to Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement .
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Fill in NEW engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  11. Close the hood.
